Ndidi scores as Foxes outgun the Blues

Helps lift Leicester to top of the table

Leicester City faced Chelsea in the English Premier League on Tuesday with an opportunity to go top of the league for the first time this season. It was Leicester manager, Brendan Rodgers 16th meeting against Chelsea as a manager.

Nigeria and Leicester City midfield anchor, Wilfred Ndidi wasted no time in announcing his presence with a sweetly struck left-footed shot from outside the box in the 6th minute after Harvey Barnes miscued a shot. It was Ndidi’s first goal of the season, and it set them on their way to a victory over Chelsea. Moments after VAR denied Chelsea a penalty, James Maddison scored after a quick counter caught out the Chelsea defence to make it 2-0.

Chelsea rarely looked like scoring and Leicester held on to pick up all three points and reach the top of the English Premier League table, with Brendan Rodgers finally getting his first win over Chelsea in his 16th attempt.
