Brazil wins the gold medal in the football event of the Rio 2016 Olympics games.
Neymar put Brazil in the lead in the 27th minute but the Germans equalised through Max Meyer in the 59th minute to keep the score tied at 1-1 and the match had to proceed to extra time.
It was a cagey affair as both sides could not be seperated after 120 minutes which led to the dreaded penalty shoot-out which eliminated the Brazilian female team.
Both sides scored their first 4 penalty kicks but Nils Petersen missed the 5th penalty kick for Germany and Neymar stepped up to calmly slot the ball into the top right corner to send the entire team and the crowd into wild jubilations.
This is the first Olympic gold medal in the history of the Brazilian football team.
