NFF congress approves 2025 budget proposal

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has approved a 2025 budget proposal amounting to N17.6 billion, as confirmed in a communique issued after the NFF’s Annual General Meeting held in Asaba, Delta State.

The meeting highlighted key achievements of Nigeria’s national teams, including the Super Eagles’ silver-medal finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and the Super Falcons’ return to the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament after a 16-year absence. The Congress expressed pride in these accomplishments while stressing the importance of grassroots football development and talent discovery across the country. This focus aligns with FIFA’s vision for global football growth.

Additionally, the NFF Congress emphasized the need for infrastructural development, improved refereeing, and coaching capacity, particularly for young talents. They approved the continuation of PricewaterhouseCoopers as the federation’s external auditors for another year.

The Congress also commended the progress made in Nigeria’s football leagues, urging various league bodies, referees’ associations, and state football associations to improve officiating standards to ensure a vibrant and competitive league system. State governments were encouraged to invest in better football infrastructure within their jurisdictions.
