NFF Hails Chelle as Super Eagles Prepare for AFCON Semi-Final Against Morocco

The Nigeria Football Federation has praised Super Eagles head coach Éric Sékou Chelle as the team prepares to face hosts Morocco in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final.

Since taking charge of Nigeria’s senior team 12 months ago, the Franco-Malian tactician has never lost a competitive match in regulation time. Under Chelle, the Super Eagles have recorded 11 wins and 5 draws in 17 matches, with their only defeat in regulation coming against Egypt in a friendly with an understrength squad in Cairo on 16 December 2025.

Chelle’s reign has seen notable victories, including World Cup qualifying wins over Rwanda, Lesotho, and Gabon, as well as strong performances in the AFCON 2025 group stage and knockout matches, highlighted by a 2-0 quarter-final win over Algeria in Marrakech.
