Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire set to clash in WAFU B U-17 Championship semi-final
A spot in the 2024 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations will be at stake when Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire meet in the semi-final of the WAFU B U-17 Championship on Saturday night.
The match will take place at the University Stadium in Accra, kicking off at 9 PM Nigeria time.
The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria have bounced back from an initial draw against Burkina Faso to secure their place in the semi-finals. Manu Garba’s team edged Niger Republic 1-0 in their second match and convincingly defeated Togo 3-0 in their final group game.
The holders booked their place in the semi-final after a comfortable 3-0 victory over the junior Hawks. Abdulmuiz Adeleke scored twice with Rapha Adams also on target.
Remarkably, the defending champions have not conceded a single goal in the competition so far. They finished at the top of Group B with seven points from three matches, while Burkina Faso secured the second spot in the group.
In the other semi-final, hosts Ghana will face Burkina Faso, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion to the tournament.
