Nigeria Basketball League champions, Rivers Hoopers receive 30m pledge from Gov. Fubara
Nigeria Premier basketball league champions, Rivers Hoopers have received the 30m naira pledged to the team by Gov. Sim Fubara back in October 2023.
Notification of the receipt of the Governor’s pledge was first made by BSN who said Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has redeemed his promise of thirty million naira (N30m) to players and officials of Nigeria Premier Basketball League Champions, Rivers Hoopers
In September 2023, the five-time Nigerian league champions went unbeaten, winning all six games to be crowned champions of the 2nd Louis Edem Invitational Basketball Championship in Lagos, Nigeria.
An excited Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara announced a reward of thirty million naira Rivers Hoopers for making the state proud during a reception for the team at the Government House in October.
In his address, the governor had urged the team to keep working hard with discipline to do well considering the support given to the team by the state government.
That promise has now been fulfilled.
