Nigeria beat 10-man Uganda to seal perfect Group C finish
Nigeria Super Eagles completed a perfect 2025 AFCON Group C campaign with a 3-1 win over 10-man Uganda in Fes. SportsRation reports.
Paul Onuachu gave Nigeria the lead in the first half, scoring from close range after sustained pressure from his side.
Nigeria’s job became easier after the break when Ugandan substitute goalkeeper Jamal Salim was sent off for handling the ball outside his penalty area. Raphael Onyedika made full use of the advantage, scoring twice in four minutes to put the match beyond Uganda’s reach.
Uganda managed a late consolation goal through Rogers Mato, who finished well, but it was not enough to change the outcome.
Nigeria had already secured top spot in Group C and finished with a perfect record of three wins from three matches, collecting nine points. Tunisia ended the group in second place, ahead of Tanzania, while Uganda were eliminated.
