Nigeria Coach Madugu Promises Smart Tactics to Beat Morocco in WAFCON Final

Nigeria’s women’s football coach, Justin Madugu, has promised fans that the Super Falcons are ready to face Morocco in the final of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). He says the team is focused and determined to win the trophy.

The Super Falcons reached the final after beating South Africa in the semi-final, thanks to a late goal from Michelle Alozie. Now, they will face host nation Morocco in the final on Saturday.

Coach Madugu said he has a special plan for the match. “We thank God for reaching the final,” he told the Nigerian Football Federation’s media team. “We are not going to relax. Our eyes are on the trophy in Rabat on Saturday.”

Madugu has taken a smart approach throughout the tournament. He prepares different tactics for each opponent, and so far, this has worked well. He says the same will be done for the final.

“We knew South Africa, as the defending champions, would be tough. But we were ready, and our tactics worked. In every match, we study our opponents first and choose the best plan to win. That’s what we’ve done in the past five games, and we’ll do it again in the final.”

Before the semi-final, Madugu had confidently said his team could end South Africa’s long unbeaten run — which had lasted since 2016. And they did just that.

Now, all eyes are on Saturday’s final.
