Nigeria-eligible Elijah Adebayo scores Luton Town’s first Premier League hat-trick in big win over Brighton

In a historic feat, Nigeria-eligible striker Elijah Adebayo showcased his prowess by scoring Luton Town’s first-ever Premier League hat-trick, leading his team to a remarkable 4-0 victory over Brighton on Tuesday, January 30.

Adebayo’s stellar performance was a key factor in Luton Town’s success at Kenilworth Road, with another player of Nigerian descent, Chiedozie Somkelechukwu Ogbene, contributing to the triumph by scoring the other goal in a big win for the Premier League strugglers.

The big win over Brighton represents an outstanding achievement for the Hatters as they fight for Premier League survival while Adebayo will go into the club’s history book with his hat-trick.

Elijah Adebayo scored a hat-trick as Luton put on an extraordinary showing to wallop Brighton 4-0 and move out of the relegation zone.

Luton set the tone for the barnstorming evening with two goals inside the first two minutes as Adebayo and Chiedozie Ogbene left Brighton reeling.

It was the quickest a team had gone 2-0 up in the Premier League since Leicester scored two in the first two minutes against Derby in 1998.

Rob Edwards’ team did not stop there as they pummelled and harassed the Seagulls with incredible energy and intelligent pressing.

Adebayo seized upon a Ross Barkley pass for 3-0 in the 42nd minute before the striker headed home to complete his treble on 56 minutes.

The result lifts the Hatters above Everton in the Premier League table and out of the relegation zone with a game in hand on the Toffees.
