Nigeria handball national team skipper optimistic of ‘good outing’ at Nations Cup
Skipper of the Nigeria Men Handball National Team, Obina Anih is optimistic of a good outing at the upcoming Nations Cup tournament.
The skippers confidence is charged by the spirit in camp as Nigeria prepares for the 26th Africa Men Handball Nations Cup.
The Golden Arrows as Nigeria’s men national team is nicknamed have been camped in Abuja for weeks ahead of the African Men’s Handball Cup of Nations scheduled to hold in Egypt from January 19 to 29, 2024.
In camp for Nigeria are twenty eight players, a mix of home-based and foreign based handball stars.
Annih, currently represents North Macedonian side GKR Tikves 2014 is a veteran and is excited at the prospect of working with the younger generation.

“I am confident that with the way we are preparing we’ll have good outing at the nations cup. Everything is going to plan and everyone is sync with the plan. It is amazing how the preparation has been so far” the Nigeria handball national team skipper said.
Annih and the Golden Arrows will be hoping for a good outing, having enjoyed significant support from the Samuel Ocheho led Handball Federation of Nigeria board.
This will be Nigeria’s 15th Africa handball nations cup appearance, their best a fourth place finish at the 1998 edition in South Africa where the team placed fourth.
