Nigeria now 44th in the World, 3rd in Africa move up four spots

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up four places in the latest FIFA World Rankings relased on Thursday by the World governing body.

Nigeria moved from 48th to 44th position in the recently released rankings after accruing a point total of 1431 points in the month in review.

The additional 16 points accrued by Gernot Rohr led team could be attributed to the wins secured by the team during the AFCON qualifiers.

The 4-0 home win against Libya and 3-2 away win against Libya played great role in the points gained and movement.

The movement has now placed Nigeria in the third position in Africa behind Tunisia and Senegal.

Tunisia is ranked 22nd in the world and Senegal 25th. Congo DR ranked 46th and Morocco, 47th, are the other African countries among the top 50.
