Nigeria vs Libya: Fisayo Dele-Bashiru not worried about jersey number
Super Eagles and Lazio midfielder, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, has downplayed concerns about wearing the iconic number 10 jersey and is focusing on giving his best for the team.
Dele-Bashiru, who was recently invited to the Nigerian national team, was handed the number 10 shirt, famously worn by football legend Jay Jay Okocha. Despite the weight of expectation that comes with wearing such a historic number, the Lazio player remains focused on his performance rather than the number on his back.
Speaking about the honor of representing the Super Eagles, Dele-Bashiru emphasised that being called up to the national team is the most important thing. “Being called up to the Super Eagles shows that I’m doing my job, and it’s always good to receive a call-up,” he said.
The midfielder made it clear that the jersey number is not his priority. “Whatever number I’m given, my main focus is to perform for the team,” he added.
Dele-Bashiru, who has been making a name for himself at Lazio, is eager to make a strong impact for the Super Eagles and help the team achieve success in their upcoming matches.
