Nigerian Boxer Anthony Joshua Gifts ‘Gold’ Gloves to President Tinubu

On January 1, 2025, Nigerian-born boxer Anthony Joshua visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. During the visit, Joshua gave the president a special gift — a pair of ‘Gold’ gloves.

Joshua, a former heavyweight champion, is currently in Nigeria for a break after his celebrations in England. President Tinubu shared the news of the visit on his official social media, saying it was an honor to meet Joshua, who he called a “true champion” and a proud ambassador for Nigeria.

The president thanked Joshua for the signed gloves, saying they represent perseverance and excellence, qualities that Nigerians are known for. He also expressed pride in being Nigerian.

Joshua’s visit to President Tinubu followed a trip to his hometown, where he worked with Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun.
