Nigerian Champions Edo Queens Triumph in CAF Women’s Champions League Opener

As champions of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL), Edo Queens are guaranteed a participation fee of $150,000 (over 250 million naira), with opportunities for additional earnings as they progress further in the tournament. T
he stakes are high, with the eventual winners set to receive $600,000, while the runners-up will take home $400,000, and the third-placed team will secure $350,000, along with other monetary incentives.
In the Group B matches, each of the eight participating clubs in the CAF Women’s Champions League Morocco 2024 will receive a minimum prize money amount, ensuring that all teams benefit from their involvement.
Looking ahead, Edo Queens will face another first-time participant, FC Masar of Egypt, on Wednesday. Their final Group B match will be against defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa on November 16.
