Nigerian clubs seeded ahead of today’s CAF Confederation playoff draw
Nigerian clubs have been seeded as they prepare to know their foes in the 2017-18 CAF Confederation playoff draw that will take place later today.
All the four club representing Nigeria in the CAF competitions this year will be continuing their continental games in CAF Confederations Cup after Plateau United and MFM FC who were the country’s flagbearers in the CAF Champions League got knocked down to the second tier competition.
Surprisingly, the teams could meet in the playoffs after CAF revealed the seeding yesterday. Tw0-time CAF Champions League winners, Enyimba are seeded in pot B alongside USM Alger (Algeria), Supersport (South Africa), and Hilal Obied (Sudan).
In pot C, Plateau United and MFM FC were seeded alongside ASEC Mimosas (Cote d’Ivoire), Mounana (Gabon), Young Africans (Tanzania), Williamsville (Cote d’Ivoire), Aduana (Ghana), Gor Mahia (Kenya), UD Songo (Mozambique), Rayon Sport (Rwanda), Generation Foot (Senegal), and Bidvest (South Africa).
Lastly, Akwa United were seeded in pot D alongside CR Belouizdad (Algeria), La Mancha (Congo), CARA (Congo), El Masry (Egypt), Niefang (Equatorial Guinea), Wolaitta Dicha (Ethiopia), Fosa Junior (Madagascar), Djoliba (Mali), RS Berkane (Morocco), Raja Club Athletic (Morocco), and Costa do Sol (Mozambique).
