Nigerian clubs show class on the continent with great first leg results
All four Nigerian clubs participating in this year’s CAF Club Competitions qualifiers had a great first leg results.
In the CAF Champions League qualifiers, Nigeria Professional Football League Champions, Rivers United secured a comfortable 3-0 against Watanga FC at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
The other CAF Champions League qualifiers representative, Plateau United also secured a 2-2 draw away from home against Stade Mandji.
Plateau United will head into the second leg full of confidence after scoring two away goals at Stade de Franceville.
In the CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers, Kwara United trashed AS Douanes 3-0 in the first leg played at Mobolaji Johnson Arena.
Former FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Sunshine and Shooting Stars forward Wasiu Jimoh scored twice to help Kwara United secure big first leg win.
The other CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers representative, Remo Stars Sports Club also played a 1-1 draw against FAR Rabat.
Remo Stars showed class at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium on Sunday as they hope to finish the job in the second leg next week in Ikenne.
