Nigerian goalkeeper named the best in France
Nigerian goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie has been named the best in his position for the 2023/2024 French Women’s League. SportsRation reports.
The 23-year-old shot-stopper, who previously won the 2023 CAF Female Goalkeeper of the Year award for her stellar performances, has continued to add to her list of accolades.
During the 2023/2024 season, Chiamaka Nnadozie featured in 18 league games for Paris F.C., keeping six clean sheets and demonstrating remarkable prowess by saving two out of three penalties conceded by her team. Her remarkable shot-to-save ratio of 70.1% ranks as the second-best in the French league.
Additionally, Nnadozie’s contributions have been instrumental in helping Paris F.C. secure a Championship play-off spot, with the team currently occupying third place in the league standings behind Paris Saint-Germain and league leaders Olympique Lyonnais.
Nnadozie’s latest achievement adds to her impressive resume, which includes winning the Bruno Martini Award for Goalkeeping Revelation of the Season in the 2021/22 campaign. Despite facing stiff competition from top goalkeepers like Lyon’s Christiane Endler and PSG’s Katarzyna Kiedrzynek, Nnadozi emerged victorious to claim the prestigious D1 Arkema Goalkeeper of the Year award for the 2023/2024 season.
Expressing her gratitude after receiving the award, Chiamaka Nnadozie took to social media to thank her teammates, coaches, family, and fans for their support and encouragement.
As she prepares to represent Nigeria in the upcoming 2024 Olympics tournament in Paris, the Super Falcons first-choice goalkeeper will be expected to display her exceptional talent on the international scene.
