Nigerian players abroad: How they fared from Friday-Sunday

It was a goal fest for Nigerian players across Europe, that even Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem was also on target.

In England, Wilfred Ndidi played all 90 minutes as Leicester won away at Swansea 1-2, Kelechi Iheneacho was an unused substitute while Ahmed Musa was not listed.

Alex Iwobi was on the bench for the entire duration of the game as his Arsenal side cruised to a 1-4 win away at the Goodison Park.

In France, 20-year-old Awaziem Chidozie was on target for his club Nantes and helped them win 2-1 against Guingamp.

Elsewhere in France Vincent Enyemea was on the bench for the entire duration of the game as his team Lille lost away 1-0 at Rennes.

In Holland, Nwakali Kelechi came off the bench in the 86th bench but could not do enough as his home side VVV Venlo lost 0-2 against Ado Haggen while compatriot Ebueyi Tryonne featured all 90 minutes for the visitors.

Friday Fred was an unused substitute as his home team Az Alkmaar defeated FC Utrecht 3-0.

In Austria, Friday Ekpo came off the bench in the 78th minutes to help his home team Sturm Graz defeat visitor’s Mattersburg 3-2.

In Belgium, 22year old Jamabo George came off the bench to help his home team Eupen play out a 3-3 draw against KV Mechelen.

Moses Simon was on target for Gent as fellow compatriot Kalu Samuel came off the bench to earn a point away from home at Kortrijk as the game ended 1-1.

Taiwo Awoniyi scored the only goal for his home team Excel Mouscron has they lost at home 1-3 to Standard Liege on Friday.

Dennis Emmanuel lasted 70 minutes for Club Brugge has they defeated Antwerp 1-0 at home.

Elsewhere Henry Onyekuru fired blank and played all 90 minutes as his team Anderlecht suffered a slim 0-1 defeat at home to Genk.

Olayinka Peter played all 90 minutes as compatriot Kingsley Madu was an unused substitute as their team Waregem lost scandalously 2-5 at home to Waasland-Beveren.

China

Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo continued his good run of form in China, scoring his 3rd in last two games and a total of 15 in the Chinese Super League this season.

Odion Ighalo scored his 15th league goal of the season as his club Changchun Yatai beat Jiangsu Suning 3 – 1.

Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel helped Chinese Super League club Tianjin Teda
beat Beijing Guoan to continue a good fight to avoid the drop.

Eygpt

Junior Ajayi fired blank for Al Alhy as his side trashed Etoile Du Sahel 6-2 in the second leg semi-final in the CAF champion league, advancing 7-4 on aggregate as the first leg ended 1-2.

Italy

Umar Sodiq played all 90 minutes for Torino as his home side lost 0-1 at home to AS Roma.
