Nigerian striker Anthony Nwakaeme has rejoined Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor, according to the club, known as the Black Sea Storm, confirmed Nwakaeme’s return on their official media channels.
The 34-year-old forward previously left Trabzonspor in 2022 to join Saudi Arabian side Al Fayha on a free transfer.
During his first stint at Trabzonspor, Anthony Nwakaeme was a key player, scoring 47 goals and providing 40 assists in 145 matches. He played a significant role in helping Trabzonspor secure the league title in the 2021/22 season.
While at Al Fayha, Nwakaeme made 55 appearances, scoring 15 goals and registering eight assists.
Now, following the expiration of his two-year contract with the Saudi club, Anthony Nwakaeme returns to Trabzonspor as a free agent.
Trabzonspor finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season, and Nwakaeme’s return is expected to bolster their attacking options for the upcoming campaign.
Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu represented Trabzonspor last season on-loan from newly promoted English Premier League side, Southampton.
The Turkish club reportedly want to sign Onuachu on a permanent basis after a fruitful loan spell.
