Nigerian striker to get $70000 from club following FIFA directive
Nigerian striker Junior Ajayi will get $70000 fro Egyptian club Smuoha SC following a directive from World Football Governing body FIFA.
The 27-year old joined Smuoha Sports Club in 2022 but his involvement with the club suffered a blow when he sustained a long-term injury in a friendly game vs Canal Club in October 2022.
In a petition to the Federation of International Football [FIFA], Ajayi laid claim to being abandoned during his injury travails and also owed wages.
FIFA in response to the petition by the Nigerian striker has ordered Smuoha SC to pay $70000 [32 million in naira] to Junior Ajayi in not more than 15-days.
Ajayi had previously represented Egyptian giants Al Ahly in a trophy-laden spell from 2016 to 2021 before a short spell with Libyan club Al Ahli Benghazi.
In 2022, Junior Ajayi terminated his contract with Al Ahli Benghazi to join Smuoha but his return to Egypt has not gone according to plan.
