Nigerian striker Victor Boniface scores twice as Bayer Leverkusen beat Heidenheim

Nigerian striker Victor Boniface scored twice in Bayer Leverkusen’s 4-1 German Bundesliga victory over promoted Heidenheim on Sunday.

The win took Leverkusen level with Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga with their fourth win in five league games. The other a 2-2 draw vs Bayern.

22-year-old Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface, who joined Leverkusen this season, has now netted six league goals to equal the club record for most goals by a player in the first five games of a season.

Against Heidenheim, Xabi Alonso tutored Leverkusen team dominated throughout but wasted a bagful of chances, after Victor Boniface has scored fo put them 1-0 up.

Heidenheim levelled scores through Eren Dinkci’s well-placed equaliser in the 58th but we’re overwhelmed by their hosts from that minute until the 90′.

Bayer Leverkusen were far more efficient after the visitors equalized and scored three more times to move up to 13 points, second on goal different to champions Bayern.

Leverkusen were back in front five minutes after the Heidenheim equalizer, when Jonas Hofmann latched on to a superb Exequiel Palacios through ball for his second league goal of the campaign.

In-form Bayer Leverkusen made sure of the three points with a 75th-minute penalty from Boniface, before Amine Adli’s 82nd-minute chip over keeper Kevin Mueller made it 4-1.
