Nigerian women players abroad: Oshoala sets Afrcan record, Ohale stuns Okobi and Ayinde in Sweden

Nigerian players were in action for their clubs in Europe.

Asisat Oshoala became the first African woman to help her team qualify for the UEFA Women’s Champions League final.

Rasheedat Ajibade failed to open her goal dairy in Norway, while Osinachi Ohale was brilliant in the colours of Vaxjo.

This is how the players fared.

UEFA Champions League

Barcelona booked their place in the Women’s Champions League final at the expense of Bayern Munich.

Barca won the second leg 1-0 to qualify 2-0 on aggregate.

They have set up a meeting with five-time winners Lyon who are hunting for a fourth successive Champions League triumph in Budapest on May 18.

Asisat Oshoala was brought on in the 71st minute for Toni Duggan and was lively all through her time on the pitch. She, however, failed to help Barcelona get another goal.

England

Powerful striker Iniabasi Umotong came off the bench for Kate Natkiel in the 80th minute as her team Brighton & Hove Albion lost 4-0 to Arsenal at the American Express Community Stadium.

Sweden

At the Tunavallen (Eskilstuna), Vaxjo stunned Eskilstuna United 1-0 in a Swedish Dammalsveskan.

Osinachi Ohale marshalled the defence for the visitors. She lasted the full throttle. The duo of Ngozi Okobi and Halimatu Ayinde were in action for the home team.

Rita Chikwelu was at thick of the action in the colours of Kristianatads as they drew 2-2 with Goteborg.

She made four key passes in the game, had four shots on target, and two off target and had five dribbles out of five.

Djurgården grabbed their first victory of the season at Kungsbacka. Ogonna Chukwudi played for 64 minutes in the game.

In the second tier, Umeå continued their flawless run with a 1-0 win over Mallbacken. Ebere Orji was subbed in the 84th minute of the match.

Belarus

Emueje Oghiabekhva fired blank as Minsk walloped Bobruichanka 4-0.
