Nigerian Youngster Destiny Udogie Eyeing Italian National Team Spot A Transfer Target For Top European Clubs.

Born and bred in Italy, 19 year old Hellas Verona Left back Destiny Udogie is of Nigerian descent and is eligible to represent the Italian or Nigerian National team.

The Youngster impressed on loan at Udinese in the Italian Serie A last season and is on the transfer radar of top European clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan,  Juventus and three other Serie A clubs.

Udogie played 37 games for Udinese in the just concluded season scoring 5 goals a huge figure for a young left back. The Italy U21 star is a proposed bride to several clubs with his age and current market value interesting prospective buyers.

Destiny Udogie had a great season and even talked up the possibility of a call up to the Italian National team as reward for his performances .

Eligible to play for Nigeria and Italy, Udogie spoke to the Italian Football Podcast of where his heart is as per choice of National team.

He said ” I feel Italian, I was born in Italy, grew up in Italy and would love to continue playing with the guys here “.

“I just have to do my best in every game so I can show him [Roberto Mancini] my qualities and it is a big ambition I hope to be able to reach.”

With the opportunity not coming through yet , a move to a top European club will boost his chances of a dream Italian National team call up. Udogie is not an option for the Nigerian National team for now with Head Coach Jose Paseiro spoilt with the choice of Calvin Bassey, Zaidu Sanusi and Jamiu Collins for the left back position.

Responding to questions via Tuttomercatoweb on the interest by Juventus, Inter Milan and Tottenham Udogie admitted to being flattered . ” It is very nice to be approached by top level clubs .
