Nigerians Abroad: Adeniyi, Onyekuru, Chukwueze, Osimhen, Onyeka on target; Moses, Aina play a part
Quite a number of Nigerian players were on target across Europe on Sunday while few others were involved as their clubs continue survival race.
Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal)
Samuel Chukwueze scored the only goal as Villarreal secured an important 1-0 away win against Girona who is one of their direct rival in the survival race.
Chukwueze’s 7th minute strike was the difference as the Yellow Submarines received a huge survival boost with the win.
James Adeniyi (Gabala)
James Adeniyi ensured a back-to-back goal with his strike for Gabala against Keshla in the Azerbaijani top league game. Adeniyi who scored the only goal in Gabala away win last week has now scored a total of nine league goals in seven games.
Victor Osimhen ( Sporting Charleroi)
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was on target in Sporting Charleroi 2-0
Belgian Europa League playoffs win against Westerlo on Sunday. Osimhen scored the last minute goal that sealed the win.
Henry Onyekuru (Galatasaray)
Henry Onyekuru was on target for Galatasaray in their 1-1 draw against Victor Moses Fenerbache.
Henry was on the entire duration while Victor Moses who helped his 10-man Fener secured an important point useful for survival push was subbed off in the 90th minute.
Frank Onyeka ( FC Midtjylland)
Nigerian midfielder Frank Onyeka was on target in FC Midtjylland’s 2-0 home win against OB in their championship game on Sunday. With Paul Onuachu missing in action due to suspension, Onyeka ensured his side march on.
Simon Moses (Levante)
Simon Moses was involved in Levante’s 3-1 away loss to Valencia on Sunday.
Ola Aina (Torino)
Ola Aina was unlucky not to secure all the points in Torino’s clash with Cagliari. Aina was defensively strong and came close to scoring the header a couple of time.
He was however helpless when Leonardo Pavoletti powered home a header to cancel out Simeone Zaza’s goal for Torino in the 1-1 draw.
