🔲 Nigerian trio of Anderson Esiti, Simon Moses and Orji Kalu failed to save their Belgian club as they suffered a 3-2 loss away from home against Sint-Truidense in their first game of the new Belgian Pro League.

While Simon Moses and Anderson Esiti remained on the pitch for the entire duration of the game, Orji Kalu was hauled off in the second half for Diallo.

🔲 Henry Onyekuru was an unused sub as Belgian champions Anderlecht failed to break down a well organised Antwerp defence in their first league game of the season. The 20-year-old, who scored 24 goals for Belgian side Eupen last season joined Anderlecht on a season long loan.

🔲 Nigeria forward Alex Iwobi was on target for Arsenal as they defeated Benfica 5-2 in the Emirates Cup. The youngster scored from a powerful drive in the 70th minute before making way for German star Mesut Ozil four minutes later.

🔲 Victor Moses was on the losing side as Chelsea fell 2-1 to Italian side Inter Milan in Singapore. The game was Moses’ third in a row for the English champions.

🔲 Another Nigerian Kenneth Omeruo helped Chelsea reserve team record a 2-0 win over French fourth-tier club Bergerac Perigord FC in a pre- season game played at the Gaston Simounet Stadium. The Super Eagles defender is not in Antonio Conte’s plan for the coming season and is expected to go on loan.
