Nigerians proud of Super Falcons 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup performance
Despite suffering last-16 elimination vs England, Nigerians are proud of the Super Falcons performance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Nigeria finished the group stage matches without defeat and held England to a goalless draw only to fall 4-2 on penalties at the Lang Park in Brisbane, Australia.
In their responses on different communication platforms, the streets of Birnin-Kebbi to Kaduna, Kano, Abuja, Makurdi, Illorin, Ikeja, Oshodi, Owerri, Aba down to the South-coast of Uyo, Nigerians are proud of the Super Falcons performance at the World Cup.
Infact, many are still hurting after how the Falcons toiled for 120 minutes against an English team that were tipped Pre-match to destroy them, but despite getting so close to a stunning win, fell short on penalties which is generally termed as a ‘ no man’s game’, there even the biggest stars could fall.
In some of the submissions available to this writer, Nigerians were particularly impressed with the daring spirit exhibited by the Super Falcons, their fitness, the compact defending and superb goalkeeping by Chiamaka Nnadozie.

Up next per competition for the Super Falcons of Nigeria will be the Paris Olympics games in 2024.
The journey to Paris will be without some players who will call time on their International career and even Head Coach Randy Waldrum could leave if the NFF decides against extending his contract.
As earlier reported, the American born Coach wants to stay and also enjoys the backing of many Nigerians who have called on the NFF to Keep Randy Waldrum in charge of the countries senior women’s team.
