Nigerians Proud of Super Falcons despite WAFCON Semi Final loss to Morroco.
Nigerians have taken to Social media to express how ” Proud” they are of the Super Falcons for a superb performance in the WAFCON Semi Final 5-4 Penalty shootout loss to Morroco on Monday night.
Red cards to Halimatu Ayinde (47 minute) and Rashedat Ajibade in the 69th minute reduced the Super Falcons to 9 Ladies against 11 Morrocan Atlas Lionesses who were cheered on by their fans.
Just like the 2021 AFCON where the Super Eagles were celebrated despite losing to Tunisia, Nigerians in their numbers shared messages commending the Falcons for holding on despite the oppositions numerical advantage to drag the game to the lottery of the Penalty Shootouts.
A 5-4 penalty shootout loss was a heartbreaking end to the Super Falcons hope of a 10th WAFCON title but Nigerians are happy the girls put in a brave fight on the night in Casablanca.
Nigeria will face Zambia in the third place match . This will be the third time the Super Falcons will be missing the final of the WAFCON In the competition history .
