Nigeria’s Semi Ojeleye makes NBA debut in Celtics’ 99-102 loss to Cavs

Jesusemilore Talodabijesu “Semi” Ojeleye who is an American born of Nigerian descent made his professional debut in the NBA for Boston Celtics in their 99-102 loss to Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.

The former Duke University and Southern Methodist University forwqrd who was the round 2 pick 37 for the 17-time NBA champions during the 2017 draft pick was on the court for just 9 minutes.

Although Ojeleye made zero buckets and rebounds during his time on the court, the 6 ft 7 forward helped Boston Celtics maintain their shape in the high tempo game.

Jaylen Brown with 25 led in points for Celtics, Kyrie Irving dropped just 22 points while Lebron James showed the Cavs can cope without Kyrie as he dropped 29 points and 16 rebounds.

The keenly contest tie was however marred by an injury to Celtics shooting guard, Gordon Hayward who fractured his ankle.

The former Jazz guard who signed a four-year, $128 million free agent contract with the Celtics this summer, was bumped by James while trying to catch an alley-oop pass in the firt quarter.
