Nigeria’s Shola Shoretire debuts for Man Utd in 3-1 win against his boyhood club Newcastle
Nigerian-born Shola Shoretire has played his first ever game for Manchester United senior team after his cameo in their 3-1 home win against Newcastle.
Shola, who started his football career in Newcastle before his parents moved to Manchester was subbed on for Marcus Rashfors in the 89th minute.
Marcus Rashford goal was cancelled out by Allan Saint-Maximin but goals from Daniel James and Bruno Fernandes ensured Manchester Unites secured all the points at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Although, Shola Shoretire was only on the pitch for just six minutes, he became just the 240th Academy graduate to reach first team at Manchester United.
Shola Shoretire at 17 years and 19 days also the second youngest player after Angel Gomes to make his Premier League debut in club’s history.
