Nigeria’s U-20 Head Coach Ladan Bosso confirms early payment of camp allowances
Reveals need for reinforcement in attack and defence ahead of U-20 AFCON
Head Coach of the Nigeria U-20 male team Ladan Bosso has confirmed and thanked the Football Federation for prompt payment of camp allowances and other entitlements to the team.
Bosso made the disclosure on a live radio program with 95.1FM Abuja.
” For the first time, camp allowances and other entitlements are paid to players as they left camp (For Christmas/New year break), ” Bosso said.
This represents a departure from the dark years when Nigeria’s participation in International tournaments featured tales of unpaid allowances.
Twelve countries will take part in the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Algeria, the Flying Eagles hoping to secure one of four slots to the U-20 World Cup later this year.
On Nigeria’s chances of qualifying from the Group stage, Bosso tipped his charges charges to fly past what he termed as the easiest group.
” Our group is not a difficult group but the easiest , however, we will not underate any country is. ”
On preparations for the tournament, the Flying Eagles gaffer confirmed the players will regroup to continue preparations on Saturday with a training tour of either Spain or Morroco expected.
Coach Ladan Bosso had earlier stuck with bulk of the WAFU B tournament winning team but has revealed he will welcome foreign based pros as reinforcement in defence and attack.
” We need experience in attack and defence and even if any foreign based player will join the team, it will be from this department. ” He concluded.
