” For the first time, camp allowances and other entitlements are paid to players as they left camp (For Christmas/New year break), ” Bosso said.

This represents a departure from the dark years when Nigeria’s participation in International tournaments featured tales of unpaid allowances.

Twelve countries will take part in the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Algeria, the Flying Eagles hoping to secure one of four slots to the U-20 World Cup later this year.

On Nigeria’s chances of qualifying from the Group stage, Bosso tipped his charges charges to fly past what he termed as the easiest group.

” Our group is not a difficult group but the easiest , however, we will not underate any country is. ”

On preparations for the tournament, the Flying Eagles gaffer confirmed the players will regroup to continue preparations on Saturday with a training tour of either Spain or Morroco expected.

Coach Ladan Bosso had earlier stuck with bulk of the WAFU B tournament winning team but has revealed he will welcome foreign based pros as reinforcement in defence and attack.

” We need experience in attack and defence and even if any foreign based player will join the team, it will be from this department. ” He concluded.
