Nikola Jokic breaks NBA assist Record for centers

Nikola Jokic has become the NBA’s all-time assists leader among centers, surpassing Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar set the record during his NBA career, which ended in 1989, and held the mark for more than three decades. Jokic’s achievement ends a record that stood for over 35 years.

The Denver Nuggets star reached the milestone during the current NBA season, reflecting his role as the main facilitator of Denver’s offense. Jokic regularly initiates plays and creates scoring opportunities for teammates from the center position.

Passing Abdul-Jabbar places Jokic alone at the top of the assists list among centers in NBA history and adds another milestone to his career.
