Nikola Jokić makes NBA history with Triple-Double

Nikola Jokić has achieved a remarkable milestone in the 2024–25 NBA season. The Denver Nugget’s center has become only the third player in NBA history to average a triple-double over an entire season, joining legends like Oscar Robertson and Russell Westbrook.

In his recent 117–109 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, Jokić recorded 26 points, 16 rebounds, and 13 assists. This performance not only secured the win but also solidified his season averages at 29.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 10.3 assists per game.

Throughout the season, Jokić has delivered several standout performances. Also, he achieved a 30-point, 20-rebound, 20-assist triple-double in an overtime win against the Phoenix Suns, a feat unprecedented in NBA history.

Jokić’s consistent excellence has been a cornerstone for the Nuggets, especially amid significant team changes, including the mid-season departure of head coach Michael Malone.

As the Nuggets prepare for the playoffs, Jokić’s historic season positions him as a leading candidate for his fourth MVP award. His scoring, rebounding, and playmaking continue to redefine the role of a center in modern basketball.
