NLO Cup: Palm Syrup FC and Kun Khalifa to wrestle for place in the final
Palm Syrup FC and Kun Khalifa FC will wrestle for a place in the 2023 NLO Cup final on Tuesday, November 28, by 3pm. SportsRation reports.
To reach this stage, both teams topped Group 2 A and B respectively at the Uyo center of the NLO Cup with six and seven points respectively.
Palm Syrup FC reached the semi-final on Sunday, following back to back wins over Krane FC, and Jaguar FC before falling 0-1 to Roro FC in their last group match.
For Kun Khalifa two wins and one draw meant they finished the group stage unbeaten in Uyo center.
A very talented side with majestic poise in attack and a cheering supporters club, Kun Khalifa scored six goals and conceeded two to edge the likes of Vandrezzer JNR, Olegacy FC and FC Chimooski to top-spot in their section.
The Palm Syrup FC vs Kun Khalifa game on Tuesday, November 28 will be the tournaments first semi-final and will also determine who wins Uyo center to earn a place in the national final vs the winner of Kano center.
KANO CENTER
Tudun Wada FC and Green Lock occupy top spot of Group 1 A and B respectively after picking maximum aix points each from two matches played.
On matchday two in Kano, Green Lock came from behind to defeat Kwankwasiyya Samba 2-1 with goals from Enoch Enenche on the hour mark and a 75th minute strike from Onyedika Philip, to villify Muhammad Auwar’s 24th opener.
For Tudun Wada, Rabiu Abdullahi struck in the 12th minute to see off Like Minds FC 1-0 and take top-spot in the section ahead of the last group games on Tuesday.
Tunun Wada and Green Lock will rech the semi-final if they can at least avoid defeat in the final group games on Tuesday at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
The maiden NLO Cup competition kicked off last weekend with sixteen participating teams.
The competition competed for by clubs in the Nationwide division of Nigeria’s league football is played in two centers , with the winner of each center qualifying for the final to be decided in Abuja.
The Nationwide League One cup brand is sponsored by telecommunications giant MTN and FirstCentral Credit Bureau.
