NNL: Akwa United Target Away Victory in Lagos

Akwa United arrived in Lagos on Saturday night on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo ahead of their Nigeria National League (NNL) Matchday 7 clash against First Bank FC. The match will be played on Monday morning at the Onikan Stadium.
The Promise Keepers have recorded three wins, one draw and two losses in their first six matches of the season. They currently sit fourth on the Southern Conference B table with 10 points.
Coach Paul Offor and his team will be targeting their first away win of the campaign against bottom-placed First Bank FC, who have managed just one point from six games this season.
Speaking to his players after their only training session at the Onikan Stadium on Sunday morning, Offor warned that the match would not be easy and urged his team to be fully prepared.
The coach stressed the need for greater commitment and better finishing in front of goal, noting that improved conversion of chances would boost the team’s chances this season.
“This is a very important match for us, and we must take it seriously,” Offor said. “We have to be ready for anything because this will be a tough game, especially against a team that is desperate for its first win.
“We know our challenges, particularly in converting chances. We must be more focused and purposeful. A win here in Lagos will greatly improve our chances of meeting our season targets.”
The match will kick off at 10:00 a.m. and will be the first-ever meeting between Akwa United and First Bank FC. Live updates will be shared on Akwa United’s official social media platforms.
