No Fans, No Problem: Ibom Angels Seal NWFL Win Against Ekiti Queens in Uyo

Ibom Angels FC recorded a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Ekiti Queens in their Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Matchday Seven fixture at the Uyo Township Stadium.
The match was played behind closed doors, but Ibom Angels were lifted by the presence of Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Sports, Elder Paul Bassey, who watched the game and showed his support for team.
Ibom Angels started brightly and took the lead in the 10th minute through Happiness Agboye. Ekiti Queens responded well and drew level in the 30th minute when Seun Fakunle found the net to make it 1–1.
The game remained tight for long periods, with both teams creating chances. The decisive moment came in the 80th minute when Wami Georgeline scored the winning goal for Ibom Angels, sending the bench into celebration.
Despite the absence of fans, the hosts showed determination and composure to secure all three points, a result that will boost their confidence as the season progresses.
Elsewhere on Matchday Seven, Dannaz Ladies defeated Ahudiyannem Queens 2–1 in Lagos, while Abia Angels claimed a surprise 1–0 away win against Delta Queens in Asaba. Rivers Angels were in top form in Port Harcourt, thrashing Heartland Queens 5–0.
In other results, Osun Babes and Sunshine Queens played out a goalless draw in Ile-Ogbo. Remo Stars Ladies edged FC Robo Queens 1–0 in Ikenne, and Confluence Queens and Nasarawa Amazons shared the points in a 1–1 draw in Iyamho.
Bayelsa Queens continued their strong run with a convincing 4–1 away victory over Adamawa Queens, while Edo Queens defeated Pacesetter Queens 2–1 in Benin City.
The win in Uyo, achieved under the watchful eye of Commissioner Elder Paul Bassey, underlined Ibom Angels’ growing confidence as they look to climb the NWFL Premiership table.
