No Lookman, Dennis as Eguavoen adds three new players to AFCON 2021 Squad for Ghana
Austin Eguavoen is set to retain all the players but three from the the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations for Nigeria’s double-header World Cup qualifiers against Ghana.
According to reports there are no spaces for Leicester City Ademola Lookman and Watford’s Dennis Emmanuel but three new players will be added to the AFCON squad.
On Tuesday, Austin Eguavoen submitted the 2021 AFCON technical report to NFF, while there were no mention of list of players in the communication made available to journalists, OwngoalNigeria reports to have insight into the squad list.
“We have received the technical report on the AFCON 2021 and we are presently studying it, in conjunction with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development. Once the study and appraisal are done with, we will make known our position,” NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi said.
According to OwngoalNigeria’s report, three players will be removed from the AFCON 2021 squad and replaced with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, Rangers Leon Balogu, and Watford’s Oghenekaro Etebo.
The report also said Orlando Pirates Olisa Ndah, Slavia Prague Peter Olayinka and Henry Onyekuru would be removed for the newly trio.
It was also said that Dennis Emmanuel will not be called for the qualifiers but might be considered for the World Cup.
While Ademola Lookman will be omitted because he is yet to be cleared by FIFA to represent Nigeria.
The Super Eagles will take on Ghana’s Black Stars in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 play-off round scheduled for the month of March.

Ahmed Musa has no place in super eagles squad again, he should give chance for younger players to excel, let’s stop playing politics with our football and sports in general killing it
