No Nigerian as FIFA lists 8 African referees for Qatar 2022 World Cup
No single Nigerian referee is deem fit to officiate at the biggest football event in the world as FIFA named seven African referees for 2022 World Cup.
Just as it was at during the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations where only one Nigerian Samuel Pwadutakam was listed for the tournament as an assistant.
This time around no Nigerian referee was included in the list of officials for the 2022 World Cup.
As expected South African referee Victor Gomez who was one of the talking points after a picture of him offering his cards to Egypt’s Mohamed Salah in the final emerged.
Also on the list is Maguette N’diaye the referee who sent off Alex Iwobi in Nigeria’s AFCON second round loss to Tunisia at AFCON 2021.

Ghana, Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia and Cameroon will represent Africa at the 2022 World Cup.
