No special target for Paul Aigbogun says Enyimba’s Head of Media
Head of Media at NPFL side Enyimba Intl, Farriel Alaputa has said the club isn’t setting a definite target for it’s Head Coach, Paul Aigbogun going into next season NPFL campaign.
Farriel disclosed this while responding to questions on a Friday Night Chat Show (FNCS) in Nigeria’s biggest WhatsApp group dedicated to Nigeria football, THE TALK NPFL, NNL, NWPL Group
“No targets need to be set because Paul has worked with us and understands our passion for success. That only victory is enough for us. So the objective is to go into every game and every competition with an intent to win”, said a confident Farriel who believes Enyimba will do well next season.
While speaking on Enyimba’s pre season engagement so far, Farriel said “The objectives of pre-season tournaments are to build a capable team for the new season. We went into it to do well, help the coach build a very formidable team. If we had won it(the preseason tourneys) it would be lovely, but the aim to is to ready the team for January, when the league starts”.
On NPFL club difficulties towards getting sponsorship deal from cooperate brands, Farriel had this to say, “Unfortunately there is no simple fix or shortcuts. The bias against clubs in the NPFL or the NPFL itself has been longstanding. It would therefore take a sustained and collaborative effort, by the clubs first of all, the LMC and perhaps our state and federal government to drive the change that we so desperately need”.
Two time CAF Champions league winners, Enyimba Intl finished third last season in the NPFL and will thus be representing Nigeria on the continent next season in the CAF Confederations Cup, and has been giving a bye for the competition’s first round.
