Norway Lead Winter Olympics 2026
The 2026 Winter Olympics have officially concluded, with Norway finishing top of the medal table.
Norway secured 18 gold medals and 41 overall. Much of their success came in cross-country skiing and biathlon. Athletes like Johannes Høsflot Klæbo played a major role in the medal haul.
The United States finished with 33 total medals, while the Netherlands, Italy, and Germany also have gold counts across skating, skiing, and team events. Gold medals were awarded across alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, snowboarding, speed skating, figure skating, ice hockey, biathlon, and more.
Nigeria was represented by cross-country skier Samuel Ikpefan. However, the country did not win a medal at Milan Cortina 2026.
Nigeria’s continued presence at the Winter Games reflects the nation’s gradual involvement in winter sports, an area traditionally dominated by European and North American countries.
