Not Arsenal’ Pep Guardiola names team ‘better’ than Man City in tight EPL title race

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has openly recognized the strength of Liverpool in the ongoing Premier League title race, stating that “Liverpool are better” than his team.

Despite a recent upturn in form, Manchester City finds themselves in third place with forty-points, same as Arsenal in the league standings, trailing Liverpool and Aston Villa by two points.

Guardiola, eyeing a historic fourth successive Premier League title, conceded that Liverpool currently holds the upper hand in the race for the top spot.

In a post-match interview with BBC’s Match of the Day following Manchester City’s 2-0 victory over Sheffield United on Saturday, Guardiola remarked, “[The title race is] so tight – we’re not top of the league, Liverpool are better. We’ve had injuries and some problems, we won the titles, important ones, our level is really good I would say and we are there.

” Now rest, we all need it. January is less intense than November and December, so we prepare for what’s next.” the Spaniard who recently led City to FIFA Club World Cup title win said.

Guardiola’s candid assessment comes as the Premier League title race intensifies, with several top teams jostling for supremacy.

The acknowledgment of Liverpool’s superiority underscores the competitive nature of the league, and Guardiola’s focus on preparing for the upcoming challenges suggests a determined approach to reclaiming the top spot in the weeks ahead.

Arsenal in fourth place will be seeking a win vs Fulham FC to go above City on the log in their final game of the year 2023.
