Nottingham Forest Increase asking price for Taiwo Awoniyi amid West Ham Interest
Nottingham Forest have raised the asking price for striker Taiwo Awoniyi in response to interest from fellow Premier League club West Ham.
The exact new asking price has not been confirmed, but it is expected to exceed the £20.5 million that Forest paid to sign him from Bundesliga side Union Berlin.
West Ham have identified Awoniyi as one of three strikers they plan to acquire, and the player is reportedly keen on making the move. Additionally, there are rumours Chelsea have renewed their interest in Awoniyi, having first inquired about him in January.
Awoniyi, 26, currently has a Transfermarkt valuation of €28 million. He joined Nottingham Forest in July 2022 for £20.5 million and is under contract until June 2027. Despite an injury-hampered season, he managed to score six goals.
Awoniyi’s potential transfer could significantly impact Nottingham Forest’s strategy and finances, especially considering the interest from top-tier clubs like West Ham and Chelsea.
