Novak Djokovic Nears Career Milestone but Faces Retirement Questions

Novak Djokovic is approaching his 38th birthday next month and finds himself at an important point in his tennis career.

The 24-time Grand Slam winner is thinking about retirement while still chasing two major achievements that could add to his already impressive legacy.

Djokovic is just one title away from his 100th career trophy and is also hoping to win a record 25th Grand Slam title.

The Serbian star recently missed the chance to win his 100th title after losing in the Miami Open final just a week ago.

Despite struggling with motivation earlier this year, reaching the final in Miami has given Djokovic a fresh boost. The current world number five had a poor start to 2025, including a run of three straight losses after the Australian Open in January.

Even though he lost to Jakub Mensik in the final, Djokovic said the tournament helped clear some doubts in his mind.

“The way I played in Miami has inspired me to keep going,” Djokovic said.
“It feels amazing when you’re hitting the ball well and winning matches.”

However, the 37-year-old also admitted that staying motivated is becoming harder as he gets older.

As he looks ahead to the rest of the season, fans will be watching closely to see if Djokovic can reach 100 career titles — and possibly make history with a 25th Grand Slam win.
