Novak Djokovic reveals what he thinks about Jannik Sinner’s doping case

Novak Djokovic has shared his thoughts on the ongoing doping case involving world number one Jannik Sinner, expressing his hope that it will be resolved soon.

Sinner failed two drug tests in March for anabolic steroids but was allowed to continue competing internationally by tennis authorities. However, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has since appealed, seeking a two-year ban for the Italian player. There is speculation that Sinner’s high ranking may have influenced the decision to let him compete.

Speaking at the Shanghai Masters, Djokovic voiced his concerns about the Tennis Anti-Doping system, saying, “It’s clear that the system is not working well. Even people outside of our sport can see that. There are too many inconsistencies, too many bodies involved, and this case isn’t helping our sport.” He acknowledged that Sinner has won three appeals so far, but noted how difficult this must be for Sinner, his team, and his family.

Djokovic praised Sinner’s ability to stay focused on tennis despite the controversy. “It’s impressive how he’s performing at such a high level, winning matches and even Grand Slams, while dealing with this situation. But it’s not good for the sport. I just hope we can resolve this case as soon as possible.”

Djokovic concluded by stating, “Whatever the outcome, I just want it to be settled quickly.”
