NPFL: Bright Ozebagbe praises Ikorodu City’s character after goalless draw against Kwara United

Ikorodu City FC midfielder Bright Ozebagbe has praised his team’s resilience and character after their hard-fought 0-0 draw with Kwara United in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash.

The game, which took place at the Kwara State Stadium Complex on matchday three of the 2024/2025 season, marked Ikorodu City’s first-ever NPFL point since their promotion.

Speaking after the match, Ozebagbe expressed satisfaction with the performance of his teammates, noting that the result would boost their confidence for upcoming fixtures.

“This is key for us and helps with our confidence going into our next game at home,” Ozebagbe told BSN. “The boys did show some character, and it paid off for us at the end.”

Ozebagbe also highlighted areas of improvement for the team, particularly in maintaining focus and avoiding mistakes that cost them in their opening match against Katsina United. “We need concentration, win the second balls, and avoid sloppy errors. These are areas we worked on after our first game in Katsina.”

Looking ahead to their next challenge, Ozebagbe emphasized that the team would play with a different mentality at home, promising fans an entertaining display of football.

“The mentality is different when we play at home. We are going to play our brand of football, and the fans are going to enjoy the game.”

Ikorodu City will face a tough test on Wednesday as they take on defending champions Rangers International in Lagos. They will then host Nasarawa United over the weekend, aiming to build on their positive result and continue their progress in the NPFL.
