NPFL clubs keen on mid-season signing of Ex-Golden Eaglets defender Charles Etim

In a heated 2023/2024 mid-season transfer market, at least three Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clubs have expressed keen interest in securing the services of versatile Ex-Golden Eaglets defender Charles Etim.

The 2019 Golden Eaglets alumnus has emerged as a sought-after talent for NPFL clubs looking to bolster their defensive options in the January transfer window.

Charles Etim, known for his versatility across various defensive positions and proficiency in defensive midfield, currently plies his trade with FC ONE Rocket in the Nigeria National League. The young defender is on-loan from Blessed Stars Football Academy, Uyo, from where he was discovered to represent Nigeria at Youth level.

Etim’s football journey has been marked by notable achievements, having represented Nigeria in the U-17 category at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup. His performances for the U-17 team earned him a spot in the Nigeria U-20 team the following year.

Last season, the defender was key to FC ONE Rocket’s push for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League and has kept same form in the ongoing NNL season with stellar performances to attract interest from top clubs in the country.

According to multiple sources, Bayelsa United FC, Sunshine Stars and reigning Nigerian champions, Enyimba FC are mentioned with interest in the defender.

The NPFL clubs vying for Charles Etim’s signature recognize his potential to make a significant impact in their respective squads as they pursue different targets.
