NPFL: Doma United FC in trouble for allegedly over-listing players, crowd violence
Doma United FC will be in trouble if allegations of listing 21 players and crowd violence during the NPFL Matchday three clash vs Dakkada FC is proven true .
That would be the first major infraction before the recently-inaugurated Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Nigeria Professional Football League – NPFL.
Doma United reportedly fielded a total of twenty-one players as against the approved number of twenty players in their matchday three fixture at home to Dakkada on Sunday January 22.
Documents made available to SportsRation, including the duly signed matchday form, home-team graphics and videos indicate that the Savannah Tigers listed ten players on the bench in addition to the eleven who started the match.
This was not to be the only gory incident at the Pantami Stadium, at half-time with scores level at 0-0, Dakkada FC players were reportedly pelted with stones on their way to the dressing room.
Dakkada FC captain Aniekan Ekpe was caught on the head in the attack which forced Dakkada players to take refuge on the pitch side for several minutes before the intervention of the Police.
Doma United went on win the contest courtesy of Ogwuche’s fifty-ninth minute strike to secure their first victory in the top-flight of Nigerian league football.
