NPFL: Fidelis Ilechukwu headlines LBA February Coach/Player of the month award shortlist

Rangers International F.C technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu headlines the shortlisted nominees for February LBA NPFL Coach/Player of the month awards.

has been nominated alongside three other coaches by the League Bloggers Award (LBA) for the coach of the month award for February 2024 in the NPFL.

Ilechukwu, who guided his team to four victories in the month under review, is contending for the monthly award with coaches Mbwas Mangut of Plateau United, Meremu Okara of Bayelsa United, and Paul Offor of Sporting Lagos.

PLAYERS CATEGORY

Six players have been nominated for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Player of the Month award for February.

The shortlisted players are Chijioke Mbaoma (Enyimba), Godsgift Elkanah (Bayelsa United), Ibrahim Mustapha (Kano Pillars), Nenrot Silas (Plateau United), Nyima Nwagua (Rivers United), and Tochukwu Michael (Sporting Lagos).

Mbaoma scored three goals for Enyimba during the month, bringing his total tally for the season to seven.

Elkanah played a crucial role in Bayelsa United’s three wins in February.

Mustapha continued his impressive form for Kano Pillars, increasing his goal tally to seven in the month.

Silas contributed to Plateau United’s success with a goal in their 5-1 victory over Heartland.

Michael, hailed as one of the best mid-season signings, has scored three goals for Sporting Lagos since joining from Remo Stars.

Nwagua showcased his talent with a hat-trick for Rivers United against Doma United on matchday 20.

The winners of these prestigious awards will be determined by a panel of Nigerian football experts and will be announced by the organizers, LBA, on Monday, March 11, 2024.
