NPFL: Kabiru Dogo to remain at Nasarawa Utd

Nasarawa United  FC’s Technical Adviser,  Kabiru Dogo (Suleiman), has reassured Management and Fans of the Solid Miners that he is not leaving the Club amids speculations.

Dogo who was interacting with newsmen on Thursday in Lafia said “I have been with this team for more than two seasons now, and I have carved a niche  with it (Nasarawa Utd ).”

“I don’t want to leave this great Club without winning a trophy as a parting gift.”

“I want to win either the NPFL Trophy or , at least, the AITEO Cup, which I believe will be a great present to the Government and good people of the State for their long patience for a silverware from their darling male team.”

Reacting to calls from other clubs in the country for his services,  the gentle-looking Kabiru said it is only normal for  other clubs to seek his services especially when the going is good.

“It is never a crime for clubs to show interest in your service , either as a coach or player, it’s a small world, you know.”
” Some people may say, “ah, that is a big club and they pay big. Why not accept it?”, but it is not all about money or the size of the club-relationship matters as well.”
“Nasarawa Utd, too , is a big club with big players and big management. We have never finished below the top ten in the league since I took over.”
“Remeber we only narrowly lost in the final of the then Federation  Cup to FC Ifeanyi  Ubah(via PK) in Lagos. Before then, we played on the Continent. So, you can see that the team is big, if not very big.”
“If the time is ripe for me to leave the team, I sure will, because in this profession, you can’t be static. But it has to be done with the right precision.”
He said the club has already mapped out templates , including addition of players,  ahead of the 2017/2018 NPFL League Season, but will approach every challenge as it comes.

Nasarawa United ended the 2016/2017 Nigerian Professional Football League Season on the fifth(5th) position with fifty-six points(56pts), five points adrift of third-placed Enyimba of Aba who will be playing in the Confederation  Cup on the Continent, after playing thirty-eight (38) matches.
The Club is expected to resume on Sunday,  29th October, 2017, to begin preparations ahead of the next football season.
