NPFL: Kano Pillars Lose Appeal Against Point and Goal Deduction

Kano Pillars have failed in their attempt to overturn a three-point and three-goal deduction after the Appeals Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) upheld the penalties earlier this season.
The committee met via Zoom on Friday to hear the club’s protest, but the panel ruled that the original sanctions would remain in place.
The punishments were handed down after crowd disturbances during Pillars’ Matchday 8 home game against Shooting Stars at the Sani Abacha Stadium in October 2025.
As a result, the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) deducted three points and three goals from the club’s record, fined the team ₦9.5 million, and ordered the indefinite closure of their stadium. The league cited serious breaches of regulations, including the assault of match officials, as reasons for the sanctions.
With the appeal rejected, Kano Pillars now face a tougher fight to avoid relegation from the NPFL.
