NPFL, NNL clubs in supremacy battle for President Federation Cup semi-final spots today
Only two clubs from the country’s elite division stand a chance to reach the semi-finals of this year’s President Federation Cup competition. Sunshine Stars and Kano Pillars, two of the surviving trio, are set to clash in one of the quarter-final duels scheduled for Wednesday in the Federal Capital, Abuja.
The Area 3 Stadium will host the showdown, where one of the NPFL teams must face elimination, allowing the other to progress to the last four.
Abia Warriors, the other NPFL side, will face giant-killers Sokoto United at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project field inside the MKO Abiola National Stadium Complex. Sokoto United advanced by eliminating two-time CAF Champions League winners, Enyimba FC, in the Round of 16.
Meanwhile, El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri will confront surprise packets Inter Lagos at the FCT-Bwari ground. Additionally, two surprise qualifiers, EFFC FC and Kebbi United, will battle it out at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
